The tuition in 2017-2018 is $8500 (US) for one semester or $16500 (US) for the whole academic year. If you enlist for a year and are accepted, the tuition for the whole year should be paid before the deadline for the first semester of this year; then the reduction is applicable for you. You can also pay the first semester tuition only, and the full price of the second semester in its turn. Keep in mind that if you pay for one semester and wish to stay for another one, you are obliged to leave Russia and reenter it with a new visa. Lodging, meals, transportation, textbooks and medical insurance are not included in the tuition. Estimates for these costs can be found below.
There are numerous theaters, concert halls and museums in Moscow. A rather good ticket to the Bolshoi theater costs about $100-150. A reasonable place to any other theater can be booked at about $20-50. A movie ticket costs about $10. Admission to Moscow museums and exhibition halls costs from $5 to $20.
Thus, the estimated cost of living in Moscow for 4 month is the following:
Overseas calls and transportation to and from Moscow must be added to the budget.
There is rather cheap cell phone tariff plan for calling to US and Canada from Moscow region: about $0.10 per minute and Skype works as well.
