The Russian Foundation of Basic Research (RFBR) together with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), in the framework of a RFBR-NSFC bilateral cooperation project, are organizing Joint Symposium on Complex Analysis and its Applications from October 22-29, 2009 in Moscow and Belgorod. The Symposium aims to serve as a forum for scientists from Russian Federation and People’s Republic of China working in Complex Analysis and its applications to present and discuss their researches, and to offer an opportunity for greater interaction amongst these researchers with a view of establishing stronger links for possible future collaboration.

The RFBR and NSFC are sponsoring the event.

The symposium covers a broad range of topics within Complex Analysis including the following directions: complex analysis and partial differential equations, value distribution theory related to number theory, geometry and topology of complex varieties and analytic spaces, the index of vector fields and logarithmic differential forms, logarithmic connections and uniformization equations, generalized analytic functions and their applications, etc. Among other things we hope to discuss some ideas and methods of modern complex analysis for investigations of wide range of problems in the theory of meromorphic functions or meromorphic mappings as well as in differential forms, in the theory of logarithmic connections with poles along the discriminant set of the versal deformations of isolated singularities and the corresponding holonomic systems of differential equations, in the theory of differential and functional equations, particularly in the investigations of analogues on the diophantine equations in meromorphic functions to that in number theory, the existence and growth estimates of meromorphic solutions of differential or functional equations, and problems relating to unique range sets, unicity or value sharing of meromorphic functions or mappings, the non-local Riemann problem and its many-dimensional analogues with applications to equations of mixed type and to system of equations of principal type, etc.

All oral presentations are by invitation only.

Participation is free but interested persons must register (preferably before October 8, 2009 for Moscow and Belgorod sessions). Please, note that during Symposium all events, facilities, etc. will be available for registered participants only.

SYMPOSIUM REVIEW (see also Announcement-2009)

It is planned that in 2009 Symposium will consist of three sessions: the first one will take place at Institute for Control Sciences RAS and Moscow Independent University, the second session will take place at Belgorod State University, while the third one - at Shandong University. The participants of the both groups will deliver lectures or talks in the framework of the joint research project. It is also supposed to collect significant open problems in complex analysis and related topics that are contributed by the participants. Selected and referred papers will be published in a volume of World Scientific lecture notes or in the journal “Complex variables and elliptic equations”.
