What were your results? 2. Mathematical interests. You are asked to answer (in a free form) the following questions. Past schools participants can skip questions 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 2.5, answering the questions 2.4, 2.6 and 2.7 instead. 2.1. Present three mathematical problems that you find the most interesting. 2.2. Cite one short mathematical proof, that impressed you by its beauty and/or unexpectedness (if you have met one). 2.3. Try to describe one of the courses taken by you (preferrably among the most recent ones; you can also describe, using the same scheme, a mathematical book you've read): 2.3.1. Title 2.3.2. Author(s) 2.3.3. Your own estimation: how well have you understood the topic? 2.3.4. The main theorems of the course (at most three). 2.4. Give a few mathematical topics that you understand well. Which of them would you like to investigate further? 2.5. Give a few mathematical themes in which you do not know a lot, but which you are going (or at least would like) to learn. 2.6. List mathematical books that you have learned (at least by 30%). 2.7. If you have participated in the work of the school in 2007 or 2008 year, please list the courses to which you have attended. 3. Recommendation. If someone can recommend you to the Organizing Committee to participate in the School, please give his contact coordinates (name, e-mail or address, phone number). (Participants, exempted from the admission fee, do not need a recommendation.) The Committee's work will be simpler if you'll present a recommendation, but more than three recommendations will not be considered.
