Program

In two years passed since the time of the 2nd Workshop the dramatic development brought together combinatorics inspired by matrix models and by the equations of the cut-and-join type resulting in constructing generating functions of many algebraic-geometrical invariants including the Hurwitz numbers and symplectic invariants. At the same time, the combinatorial description of moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces and related quantization topics together with the related issues in cluster algebras continue to thrive, including generalizations to algebras of higher rank and investigating the related algebraic structures. Although it was always the general belief that these two fields are related more closely than was anticipated, no solid evidence was provided until the very recent development in the description of hyperbolic knots and related dualities.

We hope to bring together specialists actively working in the field for exchanging ideas in the environment of summer-fresh Moscow. The workshop will take place at three locations: the Independent University of Moscow (3 days), the Steklov Mathematical Institute (2 days) and the Higher School of Economics (1 day). The Independent University is situated in one of picturesque areas of old downtown Moscow whereas the Steklov Mathematical Institute and the Higher School of Economics are situated near Leninsky Prospect --- one of the main Moscow streets --- and in the area where most of Academic Institutions and the Moscow State University are located.

Organizing Committee: Leonid Chekhov, Liza Kryukova,   Sergei Lando, Armen Sergeev, and Michael Tsfasman

We expect short series (2-3) of 1-hour-long lectures, 1-hour long research talks, and shorter 30-minutes talks of younger researchers.

The registration fee is 150 USD for foreign participants (paid upon arrival by those who can cover it from their grants or institutions) and 3000 roubles for participants from the FSU (also paid for those who can cover it from their grants). This covers also the welcome party and the conference dinner.

The organizers provide reasonable accommodation for free/budget price at the Guest House for visiting professors at the Higher School of Economics.

All nationals except for some countries of the FSU need visas to enter Russia. Because it takes time to arrange invitation (for a tourist visa) and to proceed the visa application in a Russian consulate, we strongly recommend to ask for your visa at least six weeks prior to the workshop date.

Due to limited funding, the organizers cannot cover travel expenses of the participants when traveling outside Russia. We however provide transportation from and to Moscow airports.

For the registration, please, contact the Organizing Committee before May, 1th on the first opportunity. It will be extremely helpful if you include a tentative title of your talk.
