Abstract:
Given a reflexive 3-polytope Minkowski ansatz constructs a set of Laurent polynomials that are designed to be mirrors for some smooth Fano threefolds. It turns out (almost) all Fano threefolds admit a mirror of this kind. This is a joint work with Tom Coates, Alessio Corti, Vasily Golyshev and Al Kasprzyk.
